Handmade Quiet Books

Something I have been interested in for a long time is the creation of 'Quiet Books', or 'Busy Books' for little ones, ages 1-4 years old. These books are handmade fabric books, mostly made out of felt, and each page has a theme, an activity, or a learning opportunity that has lots of little things busy hands can play with.

Along with the learning, they can be fabulous at working on the fine motor skills our young ones need to learn. Buttons, snaps, buckles, straps, tying, threading... all these types of things can be found on a quiet book page and are all very helpful for an active growing mind!

As these pages have physical activities, not just words and pictures, they are also really good at captivating a young mind for longer than 30-seconds. This can be a lifesaving tool for a busy mum, trying to hold it together in a crowded waiting room!
